Most of us probably would ask this question to ourselves “am I getting too addicted to the internet?” And most of the times the answer is yes. Is it? I live in Hyderabad city, India. The daily hush hush and the fast paced life slipping the time faster than we thought right in front of us while we keep the wheel of life rotating on daily basis. And when we are not busy at living the life in survival mode, those very little free intervals found in between to feel alive that we do exist in this wonderful planet along with millions of other species, those free intervals when we get to see the vastness of the sky and the beautiful nature below it and many more of such incredible surroundings and experiences are put aside for later as we pull the mobile out from our pockets and open those messaging apps curious to find out who texted you or what’s the talking point in some group chats. I too get myself entangled in this web of guilty pleasures and keep the real life for the later part. Cos I use to feel that life can wait but not the chat! But as we go more deeper and deeper if lucky we realise that it’s a void of dark emptiness and the true light is actually the other way. I keep trying to pull myself out of this black hole but do get dragged back down sometimes. It happens! But the good part is I knew that I have to get out and which I did and now life feels lighter and brighter. Now with that positive note in mind let us not make the digital life look so bad either. We need internet, we need smart phones to keep ourselves updated and connected for our own reasons. Like I now use it to write, read, news, photography, music, watch meaningful videos and movies to relax and yes to make calls and text ofcourse. It’s a great tool which must be used for progress but not to kill our precious time on chats or drain our day’s energy on a device which can actually be a great powerful tool. At this moment I am away from the city chilling out on my village home terrace sitting and writing this blog under the beautiful sky and the vast horizon in the distance and nothing else. It’s so quite and peaceful at this moment. It makes me feel to be thankful to I don’t know shall I say God? Or my parents or this sky, the breeze or to everyone and everything there is on this planet. It’s good to be disconnected. We must read, write, watch, observe or just sit quietly under a tree somewhere and listen to the chirping of the birds or the sound of the leaves whispering something while you caress the hair or your love sleeping on your lap looking at you falling in love with each other time and again. Life is full of surprises only when we stop expecting. But now with the digital life we have become predictable and our minds configured to the worlds web. Lets try to disconnect to connect Until next time. Goodbye. #life #digital #smartphones
